Emirates Axes most New Zealand Flights. High Fares to Australian & Pacific destinations

Written by Your VIPTRIP Team on October 6th, 2017

Emirates cancel its daily Airbus A380 flights between Auckland – Brisbane and Auckland – Melbourne in autumn 2018. Air New Zealand/Virgin Australia and Qantas/Jetstar will continue keep TransTasman and Pacific Island Airfares at a high level. This is also in the interest of Fiji Airways, Air Tahiti Nui and Air Calin.Emirates A380 Flights between Sydney and Auckland were already discontinued from July 13 2017, with the Gulf carrier saying the superjumbo service is being retired “to optimise capacity on this route in line with changes in demand.”

In its place, Qantas will upgrade four daily Sydney-Auckland services – QF140/146 and QF143/149 – from Boeing 737s to Airbus A330s sporting the airline’s highly-regarded Business Suite seats at the pointy end. This will put even more stress and inconvenience on travelers. Future risks are missed connections, long wait at security checkpoints and transfers between gates.

Auckland – Brisbane and Auckland – Melbourne flights are going to be axed in autumn 2018.
ViPTRiP Travelers have been offered more convenient connections / routings.
