Thanks VIP team your newsletter this morning was good timing. Appreciate your recommendations and decided to book the Air New Zealand & Austrian Business lie flat flights (Chch to Lisbon) offered with a stopover in Vienna for a little over $6300. Saved me almost 3 grand!
Forget about airpoints. For my last trip I had to buy an Air NZ Premium Economy ticket for over $6500 plus 3000+ Airpoints for oneway upgrade to business. I also learned you have to be careful with Air New Zealand flights. They still operate the old B767 with a horrible outdated business class.

Hi, it is sad but I have to say if you fly Air New Zealand cattle class “Bring your own food” is highly recommended on longer flights Auckland to Shanghai Hong Kong Los Angeles San Francisco Vancouver (TG they don’t serve food on short flights). I know a few people who booked an upgrade to Premium Economy on their return journey simply to survive (esp. if you are a little claustrophobic and can’t cope so well in cramped environments)…

I agree, had some disappointing economy flights Auckland to Shanghai and Los Angeles. The 777-300 is an aircraft to avoid. Hope the Air New Zealand Dreamliner doesn’t give me nightmares on my next flight to Tokyo.

Hi Sue. Good advice. Business Tickets with Air France and Air New Zealand to Paris for $6999. Why pay Air NZ $8700 for the same flights. Thanks!
