Namibia vacation – Desert Adventure – Etosha Wildlife

If you have a flight to Southern Africa, anywhere like Johannesburg or Cape Town, or even Windhoek, consider taking a week or so to explore Namibia. Windhoek is an interesting city with its European flair and German place names. From there you can take a rental car or guided tour to Etosha National Park and watch wild animals on a safari, both guided or selfdrive. In this park you are sure to see as many wild animals as you like, it is that easy. Once you have seen everything you want, drive down to Swakopmund on the coast where the shops sell German bread and wurst and the streets look so European you cannot believe you are in Africa. From Swakopmund it is worth taking a drive down the coast to Walfish Bay, see hundreds of Flamingos in the coastal bays, and take a hike up Dune 7, one of the highest dunes you will have ever seen. Or take a 4wheel drive and do as the locals. If you like desert, try Sossouvlei and Fish River Canyon, the most spectacular landscapes imaginable. Adventure made easy, especially with all the most amazing luxury lodges awaiting your visit. There is nothing quite like a cool glass of wine on the deck watching a glorious sunset behind the desert after a hot day full of exciting adventures.
