Accident: Singapore B773 near Hanoi on Oct 17th 2011, turbulence injures 21

A Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration 9V-SYH performing flight SQ-833 from Shanghai Pudong (China) to Singapore (Singapore), was enroute about 180nm northeast of Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), about 10nm east of waypoint KARAN, when the aircraft encountered turbulence causing serious injuries to one passenger and minor injuries to 5 cabin crew and 15 passengers. The aircraft continued to Singapore for a safe landing.

The NTSB reported on Nov 23rd 2011 the aircraft did not receive any damage. Singapore’s Air Accident Investigation Bureau is investigating. source aviation media
